Saori Masuda

Mezzo-soprano

Saori Masuda was born in Japan in 1987.
She has studied singing in Omiya- Koryo high school from 2003 to 2006, Operas,
songs and languages in Tokyo university of Arts from 2006 to 2011.

After graduated university, she has studied in Italy, Austria and Germany , Gunma Opera
Academy "Nourajuku" under Akiko Nakajima.

She sang Carmen by Bizet as cover in Bunkyo-ku Opera,
Stage debuted as Gertrud in Hänsel und Gretel by Humperdinck,
Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas by Purcell,
Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni by Mozart,
Stepmother and September in The twelve months by Hayashi,
The wife in The cried Red ogre by Hamada.

As a soloist,
Vergnügte Ruh by Bach,
Gloria by Vivaldi,
Stabat mater by Pergolesi,
Symphonie No.9 by Beethoven,
Messiah, Dixit Dominus by Händel,
Requiem, Vespaere by Mozart,
Requiem by Durufle,
Requiem by Verdi.

She got 3rd prize of Tokyo international vocal competition in 2013,
got a 2nd prize of The international Romanian music competition in Japan in 2016,

and admitted to participate to the final of
ARD Munich international music competition in Munich in 2012,

and Hans Gabor Belvedere international singing competition in Amsterdam in 2015, and
Villach in 2019,

And she had selected to the finalist of 88th, 91th The music competition of Japan.

She won in the first prize 24th Matsukata Music award in Japan.

From April in 2017 to May in 2019, she was a member of Biwako Hall vocal ensemble of
Biwako Hall Center for the performing Arts, Shiga.
Now she is a member of Biwako hall vocal ensemble resisterd (graduated) soloist.

She has studied singing under Junko Tominaga, Michiko Aoki, Monica benvenuti, Yoko
Hadama, Andrea Pfeffer, Regina Werner- Dietrich,Reiko Kobayashi.
